Welcome to Our Website and Happy New Year!

Div. H Gov. Cecelia Muhammad, ACS, CL
Welcome fellow Toastmasters to District 14, Division H's website for the 2009-2010 Toastmaster Year! This year, Division H will truly be "The Heart of District 14"!
My name is Cecelia Muhammad I am the newly elected Division Governor. I would like to share with everyone who I am what my goals are for this Division and how I plan to accomplish these goals.
I am a registered Nurse retired I maintain an active license and on call for disaster relief. I am a great grandmother to two beautiful little girls, who reside in my home town of Chicago.
I have been in TM for 5 years an active member of Mills Golden Tongues, having served in every role in my club. I was Area governor for H72 2008-2009 I love Toastmasters. You may ask why do I love it let me share with you why, first TM has helped me be a better me; I am learning more compassion, tolerance and listenening skills. I am not finished with learning I feel my life has lots of room for possibilities.
My Goals for Division H are really simple Grow all 31 clubs to Presidents Distinguished, assist each area Governor to obtain their TM goals, and in turn help them help their area to grow and share this wonderful organization with as many people as I meet every day. As I watch the news at night I see people speaking in a language that is foreign to me and they call it English. I believe each of you experience the same wonders when watching folks speak on camera. I want to change the worlds perception of Americans. I believe that we as toastmasters can do that. Is this just a dream? I believe a small group DIV. H with faith in making a change can accomplish anything.
My plans for obtaining these goals are:
1. Read my manual so I will know what I am to do.
2. Keep positive
3. Listen listen listen otherwise I may miss someone crying in the wilderness, wanting to be a toastmaster.
4. Speak the truth regardless of whom, what, or where.
5. Keep ethical TM standards.
We have a lot of work to do we lost clubs last year I don’t intend to lose any 2009-2010 I have faith. I need every ones help. I will be reaching out to any one that will be willing to see. As I mentioned I am a Registered Nurse. Our heart is a pump. It pumps blood to all areas of the body. If there's no blood to the arm, or leg, or brain it ceases to function. Just like the heart in our bodies we will be pumping out Speeches, Leaders, district officers and women and men seeking to better themselves and our communities. A brilliant man once said “each one teach one” and that is exactly what we will do in Division H this upcoming Toastmasters year.
Sincerely,
Cecelia Muhammad, R.N., A.C.S., CL
